New report out on Hope Clinic facility

New report out on Hope Clinic facility

Although our firm represents women/patients in another matter against this clinic involving sexual misconduct, harassment, and assault by a Hope Clinic doctor, it is disappointing to continue to see information about this facility and its even more disappointing that facilities like this exist in West Virginia and are being protected by tort reform legislators & advocates.

Some troubling findings from the investigative report include:

  • “Inspectors interviewed PPPFD CEO Mark Radcliff and asked him why he didn’t hire any nurses or physician assistants or other medical professionals at the pain clinic. ‘We try to maximize the doctor’s profit,’ Radcliff said, according to the report. ‘We have not hired any other medical personnel because it will cut into the doctor’s profit.’
  • Radcliff ‘did not place any emphasis on the safety, care and well-being of patients being treated at the clinic,’ inspectors wrote in the report.”

Tort reform legislators & advocates passed law this past legislative session (SB6) to protect these facilities & insulate them from being held accountable for their actions instead of working to ensure that WV citizens are protected. Tort reform legislators & advocates should be ashamed of themselves for protecting companies that put profits over our WV people.
